Low Calorie Snack Review – Chobani Pomegranate Greek Yogurt

With so few calories, immense creaminess and fantastic?nutritional?benefits, why is Chobani’s Pomegranate Greek Yogurt my favorite? The amazing taste and ultra-satisfying texture.

I tried this yogurt a few weeks ago after noticing them on sale for $1 each. I typically only eat plain Greek yogurt and mix in berries and sometimes honey, but the pomegranate flavor (fruit on the bottom) enticed me. I bought two 6 oz individual serving containers and they only lasted two days.

At 140 calories, it’s a great value for your daily calorie budget. Even more impressive is that this yogurt is fat free, yet it is incredibly creamy. Lastly, I work out like crazy and the impressive 14g of protein is super helpful to recover sore and aching muscles after workouts!

I’ve gotten into the habit of eating one 6 oz container at night time which is a satisfying way to end my 1500 calorie days. I’ve tried all the other flavors at this point, but pomegranate is by far my favorite. Raspberry, blueberry and peach, are also fantastic.

Low Calorie Chicken Casserole Recipe

This cooking method became very popular especially among the Americans during the 1950's thereon when the dish was first introduced to the consumers from a simple light-weight metal. Now it has evolved into different materials such as glass, enamel, and stoneware to name a few. With this development, recipes of so many variations came up for everyone's satisfaction.

Varieties of low calorie recipes were introduced depending on every persons requirement. The usual low calorie intake per day consists of 1500 to 1800 kcal. Normally, calorie intake varies, 1940 kcal for women and 2550 kcal for men. These calories are then burned into energy and the excess intake become fat. Low Calorie Chicken Casserole

Ingredients:

1.5 lbs chicken breast (skinless), diced2 medium size potatoes, diced2 medium size carrots, diced1 medium size turnip, diced1 each green and red bell pepper, chopped1 large onion, chopped4 cloves garlic, crusheda?? cup tomato paste1 tbsp parsley, chopped1 tbsp paprika1 bay leaf1 liter chicken stock4 tbsp olive oilsalt and pepper to taste

Procedure:

In a mixing bowl or dish, mix all together the chicken, paprika, salt and pepper. Heat olive oil in a casserole or a large sauce pan and place the seasoned chicken. Cook for 5-10 minutes until chicken turned brown. Remove chicken and set aside. Saute onion and garlic on the same casserole until the onions are translucent. Add the chopped green pepper and parsley then the tomato paste. Mix well and cook for 3 to 4 minutes more.

Return the chicken to the casserole. Gradually add the chicken stock. Add all the vegetables and stir them all together and cook over a low heat for about 20 minutes or until chicken and vegetables are done. Garnish with parsley and serve immediately with plain rice.

Makes 5 - 6 servings

Every 100 grams of chicken breast is equivalent to 116 kcal. This casserole recipe have 700 grams chicken breast and therefore has 812 kcal. Taking into account the added vegetables, it is still in conformity with a low calorie diet which is supposed to be 1500 -1800 calories per day depending on a person's needs and doctor's advice.

Jenni's Pizza Crust

1 cup hot water and 1 pack yeast (place yeast pack in hot water till it becomes frothy. Water should be about 130 degrees)
3 Cups Pamela's baking mix
2 Tablespoons Whole Foods Pizza Spice, Italian Seasoning, OR Trader Joe's "21 Season Solute"
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon Agave

Mix all ingredients together in a big bowl except cheese and pepperoni. Kneed into a ball and use rolling pin to roll it out into pizza shape, about ?" thick. Remember, thin crust will cook FASTER. (You want this dough soft but not STICKY. If as you mix and kneed it sticks A LOT to your fingers, add more Gluten-Free flour.)

Place dough on a greased (use Ghee) cookie sheet and place in preheated oven for 15 minutes, Remove from oven, add sauce and toppings. Bake for 10-15 minutes until crust is golden on edges and cheese is melted. Slice, serve, and enjoy!

Ideally, start out with fresh chicken that you roast in the oven beforehand. I like to get a roaster that is on sale at the market for $1.99 a pound and throw it in the oven Saturday or Sunday afternoon, for a few hours. While you are out picking up a chicken, also get:
1 loaf of decent bread. How to assemble the meal (and this takes about 1 minute!):

Grab a small plate and put one slice of bread on it and put one teaspoon of the Land O Lakes spread over the bread.Measure 3 ounces of chicken (If you don't have a scale yet, this is roughly the same amount of meat that you'd get with a standard hot dog) and place it over the spread (turn it into a few small pieces as needed).Put plate in microwave and run on high for 30 seconds.Bend bread into the shape of a hotdog roll.

Enjoy! Now isn't that Simple and Amazingly Yummy? You can even refer to it as a "SAY Dog"!

How to Prepare Deliciously Seasoned Chicken Drumsticks

Preparing delicious chicken drumsticks that are well-seasoned is as easy as one, two three. First, what you'll need to do is clear out and clean your sink thoroughly. Then, once your sink is clean as a whistle, simply fill it half way with fresh water. After your sink is thoroughly filled half way with water, you'll need to pull out your favorite spices from your kitchen cabinet. Some of the best spices you can use for seasoning chicken is low-sodium meat tenderizer, terryaki sauce, pepper, garlic powder, paprika, cayenne pepper, light salt, Italian seasoning, and a few other creative and low sodium seasonings to marinate your chicken drumsticks in.

You'll need to let your chicken drumsticks soak in the sink so that it'll deplete chicken grease and any blood it had inside the packaging, and you can get the chicken clean. After the first set of water soaks up the blood and extra chicken grease from the drumsticks, simply drain the 1st set of water from the sink, and remove the drumsticks from the water. After the chicken is removed from the sink after the water has been drained and the chicken drumsticks have been cleaned thoroughly, simply get a pot, or large bowl, in prepping for the 2nd phase of marination.

When your drumsticks are drained and ready to be seasoned, place them in the pot or large bowl. By the time the chicken has been placed in there, the pot or bowl that the drumsticks will sit in should have a little bit of fresh water in it, accompanied by the seasonings you plan on using to season the chicken meat. After all the chicken drumsticks have been paced in the pot or bowl of choice, simply place the pot-top or a large plastic food covering over the food bowl, to cover up the meat. After the chicken has been covered in seasoning with a tid bit of water and either a pot top of food wrap, place the covered drumsticks in your refrigerator and let them marinate thoroughly for a few hours, or a day.

After you feel the marinated chicken drumsticks have been completely marinated and are ready for cooking, you can place them in a large steaming pot to steam them, or place on the grill to cook. If you decide to place them in a large steaming pot to cook, this ensures that you are bleeding extra sodium, and hidden fat that is in the drumsticks, thus, helping to reduce calories and fat in the chicken, so that you'll be eating virtually pure protein, without consuming extra sodium, calories and fat.

I recommend no more than 2 small serves of grains a day and avoiding wheat altogether. Modern wheat is very hard to digest and eating wheat and store-bought bread are common causes of abdominal bloating.

Chewing Gum

When you chew gum you swallow air. This air can get trapped in your digestive tract causing pressure, bloating and belly expansion.

Hard lollies/sweets

When you eat hard lollies you also swallow a lot of air. This air can get trapped in your digestive tract causing pressure, bloating and belly expansion.

Eating too fast and talking a lot while you eat

Again, this causes you to swallow a lot of air. However, a leisurely meal with casual conversation is good.

Fizzy Drinks

Another source of trapped air/gas in your digestive system

Sugar alcohols

Sugar alcohols such as xylitol, sorbitol and maltitol found in artificial sweeteners may be low-calorie but are not a good thing to consume if you are wanting to balance your body size. You body can't absorb or use these substances and they have been shown to cause wind, bloating and abdominal distention.

3. Observe for Any Other Foods Which May Cause You Excess Digestive Gas

Common foods that may cause excess digestive gas in some people include:

Weight Loss Plateau Defined

When your weight loss stalls, regardless of your efforts to exercise and maintain a healthy diet, you are experiencing a weight loss plateau.
